The 13 Ensemble Artists are dedicated to continue the excellent tradition of CCM which was founded in 1986.?? In Memoriam: Pierre Boulez (1925-2016) The Chicago Chamber Musicians Ensemble dedicates our January 11 concert to the memory of Pierre Boulez of whom Prime Minister Manuel Valls wrote,"Audacity, innovation, creativity-that is what Pierre Boulez was for French music, which he helped shine everywhere in the world." CCM had a special relationship with Maestro Boulez dating back to our 20th century music retrospective, Music at the Millennium at the Museum of Contemporary Art 1998-2000, Pierre Boulez was our mentor and guding light for that important part of our history. He led five CCM concerts at the MCA, the Harris Theater and, on the occassion of his 80th birthday in 2005, at the Berlin State Opera House. Our work with Maestro Boulez continues to rank as a high water mark in the lives of the Ensemble Artists.
